At Tiong Seng, we believe that every building begins with people — visionaries, problem-solvers, and leaders who turn possibilities into reality. Edwin, a Senior Project Manager with 22 years of experience in Tiong Seng, embodies this philosophy. Since joining Tiong Seng in 2003, he has contributed to some of Singapore’s most iconic projects, such as Resorts World Sentosa and OBS@Coney, while mentoring the next generation of engineers.
From Blueprint to Reality
Edwin’s role as a Senior Project Manager is pivotal. He ensures that projects progress smoothly, adhere to safety standards, and maintain the highest quality. “Without proper project management, a project cannot be delivered as planned,” he explains. “My job is to align people, processes, and resources so that we can transform designs on paper into buildings that serve communities and the nation.”

A Day in Action
Construction begins early, and so does Edwin’s day. By 8 AM, he is on site, setting the pace for his team and organising work activities. His mornings are focused on ensuring that all teams are aligned and that resources are ready for the day ahead. As the day unfolds, he balances site walks, technical reviews, and discussions with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Each evening concludes with coordination meetings to reflect on progress and plan for the next day. For Edwin, each day is less about routine and more about leadership in action such as guiding people, solving challenges, and driving projects forward with purpose.

Passion that Builds
Edwin’s fascination with construction began with a simple question: how does an empty piece of land become a building? That curiosity evolved into a career where teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation are essential. He finds deep satisfaction in seeing a team come together to achieve a common goal. “Buildings are never built by one person,” he says. “It takes a team. That is what makes the work so rewarding.”
At Tiong Seng, Edwin has also found a culture that encourages learning and innovation. New ideas are welcomed, whether they improve productivity, enhance safety, or streamline processes. “Tiong Seng has always given us opportunities to learn and innovate. That is what keeps me here after more than two decades,” he shares.

Shaping People and the Future
For Edwin, construction is about more than structures. It’s about shaping lives and building the future. He mentors young engineers, guiding them on site and teaching them the fundamentals of construction, documentation, and discipline. This ensures that the next generation of leaders is equipped to carry the industry forward.
Having contributed to complex projects like Resorts World Sentosa and OBS@Coney, Edwin understands the lasting impact of his work on the skyline, on communities, and on the people he inspires. “Every project represents more than concrete and steel. It’s the coming together of people, ideas, and determination to create something enduring. The true legacy of a project manager lies not only in delivering buildings, but in inspiring others to keep building possibilities for generations to come.”
