For Zaw Lin, this journey began in 2011. What started as a technical role has since evolved into a leadership position spanning multiple functions, reflecting both his personal growth and the company’s commitment to developing its people.

Zaw Lin joined Tiong Seng as a BIM Specialist at a time when digital construction was still emerging within the industry.

Even before joining, he had already demonstrated strong capability in this field by winning a BIM competition at a time when such expertise was still rare. This achievement not only reflected his technical strengths, but also positioned him among a small group of early adopters in the industry.

Recognising both his potential and the growing importance of digital construction, Tiong Seng provided him with the platform to further develop his capabilities.

Growth Through Trust and Responsibility

Within just a few years, Zaw Lin was entrusted with greater responsibilities. By 2015, he had progressed into a managerial role, leading a large team and overseeing key aspects of project delivery.

Managing a team of this scale required more than technical capability, it demanded leadership, coordination, and sound decision-making. This transition marked a significant milestone in his career, made possible by the company’s willingness to empower its people and place trust in their abilities.

Leading and Innovating

Today, Zaw Lin oversees multiple functions across BIM, Construction Innovation, and Formwork System Specialist Unit (FSSU).

His day begins early, focused on planning and aligning priorities across teams. A large portion of his work centres on project delivery: ensuring coordination, identifying potential issues early, and supporting teams on the ground. At the same time, he drives innovation efforts, exploring new technologies such as AI, digital platforms, and robotics to improve processes and outcomes.

Balancing these responsibilities requires adaptability, discipline, and a strong understanding of both technical and operational needs.

He has represented the company internationally—attending conferences, speaking at industry platforms, and participating in study trips across Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, and America.
