Criteria/Significance
The BCA Universal Design Awards was launched on 25 September 2006 as an
initiative to develop a more user-friendly living environment in Singapore. It is
intended to promote universal design in the built environment and raise
awareness among owners, developers, designers and builders when they start
project conceptualization and design, to incorporate features accommodating
the widest possible range of human needs. The Awards accord recognition to
organizations and individuals for their efforts in embracing Universal Design in
their developments. |

This is to help develop a more progressive construction industry.
